Who We Are
We are website developers, designers, physicians, writers, and editors advancing the prevention and care of HIV infection and related illnesses worldwide through the development, organization, and dissemination of expert knowledge.
What We Do
We build and maintain personalized, smartly designed, affordable websites.
How We Do It
As a program with a global reach, CHI connects with target audiences by taking advantage of technologies that provide maximum efficiency and flexibility.
- We manage site updates with an eye toward the latest protocols and security concerns.
- We build sites that are accessible to people using older technologies, and simultaneously meet current standards.
- We aim to use responsive design and fluid images to adapt layout to viewing environment.
- We solicit feedback from users to learn what works and what doesn't, and monitor statistical data for insight into how the sites are used.
- We monitor accessibility guidelines and aim for 100% compliance with WCAG AA standards.
- We select content management systems that meet partner requirements, and take advantage of open source technologies when appropriate.
- We partner with technical groups within and outside UCSF to bring the right skills and resources to our projects.
